“Huyser” meaning hope, lies at the core of the ensemble’s mission to keep Armenian language and music alive by advancing the Armenian cultural footprint, and engaging the American-Armenian youth.
Admired and much respected by Armenian communities for over a decade now, the ensemble is known for its modernization of traditional and folk music, as well as the introduction of newer arrangements of many well-known pieces.
Committed to creating something new while preserving the old, Huyser is led by Artistic Director & composer Harout Barsoumian and Musical Director Karine Barsoumian, joined by its lead singer Maria Barsoumian, guitarist Ara Yegoryan, and violinists Shant Tanielian & Diana Vasilyan.
The ensemble has performed to sold-out audiences at different settings, from church auditoriums to renowned concert venues like the Tony Bennett Concert Hall, to Times Square, NYC, and continues to expand its performances nationwide.
